Etsy’s Home for the Holidays!

I had the privilege of attending Etsy’s Home for the Holidays celebration tonight for the Baltimore sellers…and it was a blast!!

What a great idea, Etsy. I got to mingle and meet some great artists and sellers in the Baltimore area. More impressive, Etsy even took time to send two of their fabulous employees all of the way from NY to answer any of our questions about their services. What a great perk to an already awesome company!

To be honest, I was hesitant to go to The Windup Space on a snowy evening to talk about my very, very part-time Etsy shop. I was inspired to hear the stories of so many different people who have dedicated themselves to making art. It was not at all intimidating and everyone was very open to helping troubleshoot issues and build business…I am truly inspired!

Thanks Etsy for being so open and accepting of the full-time teachers, full-time mothers and full-time wives who are trying to also follow their dream of becoming full-time artists!

2 new paintings! (and a great Pinterest board to follow!)…

Lots of creative people get “creative block” and get stuck in a rut.

So, I keep myself thinking about painting and growing as an artist by pinning to my board called “Painting Ideas” (feel free to follow me!) on Pinterest.  There are so many talented artists producing beautiful work and I love searching for new paintings and inspiration.

AND, Here are two of my newest works for you to see:

“Fuchsia” (such a hard word to spell, btw!):

“Fuchsia” by Art by Megan

“Shadow” (for sale for $29.99 on Etsy):

Paintings make a great holiday gift for that friend who “has it all”, the “dirty hippie” relative, the aunt who “wants world peace” or the best friend who needs a good surprise gift!

Check out more of my original paintings on my Etsy shop.  Happy shopping!

My 1st Ad (!!) on The Shine Project…

My first ART BY MEGAN ad has been published!!  Art by Megan on Etsy!

I am so pumped and very honored to be working with Ashley of The Shine Project this month.  Her online shop and blog help to raise money to send inner city kids to college and inspire the world, one young person at a time.

Ashley has a great online at Store Envy, whose proceeds go towards the Shine Project’s scholarship fund.  Christmas gifts, anyone!?

Here are a couple of the pieces that I love the most from her shop:

More about The Shine Project from her blog:

The Shine Scholarship Project is a non-profit that was created by TSP to put our beliefs in action. Its mission is to improve the lives of at-risk teens through service, education, and family involvement. We do service projects with inner city students every other week to teach them the leadership skills that are necessary for them to succeed. The money we raise goes to sending these leaders to college, so they can give back to society.
